Slash Reveals That Him and Scott Weiland’s “Chemical Issues” Contributed to Band’s Breakup
In a new The Australian interview, Slash recently did he said that Scott Weiland wasn’t the only person responsible for Velvet Revolver falling apart in 2008. Slash stated that he himself was to blame as well, citing ‘chemical issues’ they both fought. Slash claimed in another interview that his time in Velvet Revolver was “no fun”.
Slash cites Rose’s constant lateness as his own reason for leaving Guns N’ Roses in 1996, after which he formed Slash’s Snakepit (he’s a big snake fan) and then Velvet Revolver, leaving Rose as the sole founder member. Velvet Revolver fell apart in 2008, with Slash citing his own and singer Scott Weiland’s “chemical issues” for the dissolution. He had a defibrillator fitted to correct a heart condition resulting from his years of excess and, by the time he formed Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators in 2010 he was clean. That helped to pave the way for the Guns N’ Roses reunion few thought could ever happen.
Slash relapsed on drugs in 2006, which was a reason for the delay in recording Velvet Revolver’s second album Libertad. Scott Weiland relapsed on drugs and alcohol in 2007. In the spring of 2008 Scott Weiland was fired from Velvet Revolver. It was around this time that Scott Weiland was going back to his old band Stone Temple Pilots. Velvet Revolver reunited for a one-off performance in January 2012 to play a charity gig. Weiland died from an accidental drug overdose in December 2015.
Who Is Meegan Hodges?
The website earnthenecklace has posted an article about Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash’s girlfriend Meegan Hodges. Most fans know her as Slash’s girlfriend on Instagram, but what lots of fans may not know is that Slash used to date Meegan Hodges back in the late 80’s, early 90’s. Slash talked a bit about Meegan Hodges in his 2007 autobiography. According to the article, Hodges used to be involved with musician Mark Knight with whom she has two daughters. Mark Knight is a member of the band Bang Tango. Some people have blamed Meegan Hodges for coming between Perla Ferrar and Slash. Perla Ferrar even went so far as to blame Meegan Hodges for being behind an Instagram account that has been harassing her online. Whether that is true, who knows. Meegan also happened to testify at her friend Erin Everly’s trial against Axl Rose in 1994. According to the article
Slash and Hodges have been seen many times all over Los Angeles in the last few years and have been living together since January 2015.
Hodges stays with Slash at his home in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles. The 9,400-square-foot mansion was purchased for $6.25 million in December 2017 and boasts six-bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
The couple has also taken trips together with Slash’s sons, London and Cash, like the time they went to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
lash has tried to be fair and has taken fun trips with Hodges and her two daughters, Scarlet Knight and Lucy-Bleu Knight, and as well.
Lucy-Bleu is a special FX makeup artist and painter and some people feel that she looks like a young Audrey Hepburn.
She Has an Eclectic Instagram Account
Hodges is a creative person, and this is obvious from one look at her Instagram account.
Meegan Hodges’ Instagram account is full of pictures of Slash playing guitar on stage, Hodges’ daughters, stills and cartoons from famous horror movies, pictures and sketches of renowned cinema villains like Count Dracula, and a few quotes as well.
There are also pictures of famous singers like Robert Plant and Aretha Franklin and stills from movies like Blues Brothers and Frankenstein. Of course, there are a few pics of Hodges cuddling up with Slash as well.
Still Keeping the Flame Burning
While Perla Ferrar is blaming Meegan Hodges for the mess her life is in, Hodges is coolly spending as much time as possible with Slash and helping him focus on his music. After all, she’s known him for years.
