Slash Stopped By Canter’s Deli For the First Time in Two Years!
This is a GNR Central Exclusive! Now the news is from a very reliable source, but what this news means is open to interpretation. A source of mine sent me this story
“Slash went to Canter’s Deli last week, went to the back bar with Marc Canter, and they spoke over coffee, reconciled, hugged. I was specifically told they hugged. Meegan was there too. People were kept away from this ‘secret meeting’ and Slash rarely comes into Canter’s. This means some form of reconciliation but also possibly business of licensing or releasing material/audio/video perhaps was discussed. Maybe some indication for releases in 2019… that’s all I know, I leave it to you to pass the news…”
Now, we were fortunate enough to interview Marc Canter a year ago and it was clear at that time that Axl Rose was still on the outs with Marc over his book “Reckless Road” that was released in 2007. Fernando Lebeis, Guns N’ Roses former Manager answered fan questions on the MyGNRForum late last year and still appeared to have negative feelings towards Marc Canter. Is it possible that we could see a reconciliation and licensing deal to use some of his content in the future?
Check out our interview with Marc below.
Twisted Sister Are Threatening to Sue Australian Politician Clive Palmer Over Him Rewriting “We’re Not Gonna Take It” For a Political Ad
According to Loudwire
Twisted Sister are threatening to take legal action against Australian politician Clive Palmer. The politician rewrote the band’s classic “We’re Not Gonna Take It” for a political ad promoting his bid to re-enter Australian Parliament after the 2019 federal election.
The iconic heavy metal protest anthem is one of the most used songs in American political history, most recently used by Donald Trump in his successful Presidential campaign. Much like Trump, however, Dee Snider is demanding Palmer quit using “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”
Instead of the song just playing at Palmer’s rallies, the right-wing former MP changed its lyrics to “Australia ain’t gonna cop it / No, Australia’s not gonna cop it / Aussies not gonna cop it anymore.” Beyond Palmer’s obvious distain for syllables, Snider objected to the song’s use via tweet:

"We're Not Gonna Take It" is a song about EVERYONE'S right to free choice. "We've got the right to chose and there ain't no way we'll lose it!" The FIRST LINE of the first verse! Clive Palmer and the @PalmerUtdParty are NOT pro choice…so THIS AIN'T HIS SONG!

Guitarist Jay Jay French also tweeted his disapproval:
Twisted Sister does not endorse Australian politician Clive Palmer, never heard of him and was never informed of Clive Palmer's use of a re -written version of our song Were Not Gonna Take It.
We receive no money from its use and we are investigating how we can stop it.

Palmer has responded to the Twisted duo, threatening to counter-sue. “I wrote the words personally that appear on our promotion and hold the copyright for those words,” Palmer says. “If [Twisted Sister] attempt to use my lyrics in any of their songs, I’ll not hesitate to take legal proceedings against them. As foreigners, they should stay out of Australian domestic politics and stay where they are. Aussies are not going to cop it at all!”
He also took a jab at Snider’s upcoming Australian tour, claiming ticket sales were low. “This is understandable given how long ago they had any influence in the world of music,” stated Palmer. [via Sydney Morning Herald]
