Tool’s Maynard James Keenan Pokes Fun At Axl Rose & Guns N’ Roses!

Maynard James Keenan Pokes Fun at Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses With Album Announcement!

Maynard James Keenan of Tool poked fun at Guns N’ Roses for taking a long time to finish albums in a tweet, referencing Guns N’ Roses’ last studio record, 2008’s Chinese Democracy. Tool are set to finally release their new album on August 30, 2019, their followup to 2006’s 10,000 Days. The band are currently on tour this Spring and Summer. He wrote on Twitter

“I’m very glad the album’s coming! But what will the album be called?”

Keenan responded, “Chinese DuexMocracy #snort.”

TOOL Announces Release Date of New Album

After 13 years of talking about a new album, Tool have finally revealed that their long-awaited new album will be released on August 30 later this year.

The band has been using their current tour as their vessel of good fortune, first performing two new songs, “Descending” and “Invincible,” at the Welcome to Rockville and now have confirmed the release date. During the intermission of last night’s (May 7) show in Birmingham, Alabama, a video screen displayed the text “August 30” as seen in fan posts on social media below.\

Not long after the show, Tool confirmed the news with a Twitter post, also seen below.

Tool’s website hasn’t to post the release date, still displaying the updated visualizer graphics that were added in late January. Official profiles also recently appeared on music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, indicating that one of streaming’s longest holdouts may finally release their catalog for digital consumption.
