Tool Announces the Title of Their Forthcoming Record
The title of Tool‘s 2006 effort, 10,000 Days, equates to a little more than 27 years. It’s almost half that time to unveil the name of the follow up: Fear Inoculum will arrive on Aug. 30.
Fear Inoculum comes after more than a year of teasing their fans.. In late 2017, drummer Danny Carey said they would “definitely” have it out in the next year. Shortly into 2018, frontman Maynard James Keenan tweeted: “Started getting music files from the boys w the word FINAL in the title a few months ago after 11 years of begging. That in theory means the tracks won’t change out from under me while I’m trying to write stories and melodies to them. In theory.”
In early January of this year, Keenan revealed that he had finished recording vocals and Tool were now in the “long process of mixing” the record. A few weeks later, Carey told a fan that the “plan” was to release the project in April. The band’s website was later updated with new visualizer graphics.
