Slash Talks to Guitar Player Magazine About New Guns N’ Roses Album

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash talked to Guitar Player Magazine recently and was asked about what was going on with the next Guns N’ Roses record. Here’s how the exchange went.

Story continued below….

What about Guns N’ Roses – any new music in the works?

We finally started working toward getting some material recorded. We get back together in October and go out on the road, and then as soon as that’s over, we’ll hunker down and start moving toward getting a record done.

And when do you think we might hear that record?

I have no idea at what pace that will happen. [laughs] With Guns N’ Roses it’s best not to speculate. You just do it when it’s gotta be done.

Jim Florentine Discusses Interviewing Axl Rose

Comedian Jim Florentine who became well known because of his appearances on “The Howard Stern Show” used to appear on VH1’s “That Metal Show” recently sat down with Metal Injection to talk about his career and the topic of interviewing Axl Rose in 2011 came up. He talked about what happened when Axl Rose found out he was supposed to be interviewed and how Bumblefoot not the band’s manager who told him about the interview. The exchange went as follows

At what point did you realize after waiting for so long it was finally going to happen?

As soon as Axl found out [that we were there] from Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal [who played guitar in GN’R at the time] …  I’m pretty sure it was him who told Axl we were there because we had interviewed him earlier [that day]. We’re friends with him, he actually did the theme music for That Metal Show, so he went to Axl and said “Listen man, these guys are waiting for you!” and Axl just asked for a little time to clean up. He wasn’t a pain, he wasn’t a diva, none of that stuff.
