Steel Panther and Motley Crue Get Into Feud

Following Steel Panther making a joke about Vince Neil in an interview with Little Punk People, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx blasted Steel Panther, calling the glam metal jokesters a “wanna be band” and “backstabbers.” Steel Panther’s drummer Stix Zadinia responded to Sixx with two tweets.

It started when Little Punk People asked Zadinia and singer Michael Starr who they’d like to bring back from the dead. Starr answer Motley Crue singer Vince Neil — who is still alive — and later clarified, “I’d bring back the Vince Neil from back in the day, because that guy is dead.”

This upset Sixx’s outrage, who also said “the singer in Steal [sic] Panther can go expletive himself,” which was ironic given that one of Steel Panther’s latest singles is titled, “All I Wanna Do Is Expletive(Myself Tonight).” Zadinia laughed it off in his first tweet, saying, “Sounds like someone needs some expletive attention.”

Steel Panther and Motley Crue toured together in 2011 when the two groups toured together alongside Def Leppard. Starr claimed that Crue hated Steel Panther and that the two sides had butted heads. Zadinia brushed off how his band may not necessarily be the “backstabbers” Sixx claims them to be. “In order to stab someone in the back, you have to have been somewhat cordial to begin with,” wrote the drummer in a second tweet.

See both tweets directly below.

Steel Panther’s new album, Heavy Metal Rules, was released earlier this year and the group is on tour through the end of the year. See their upcoming tour dates below.

Axl is the greatest singer, songwriter, performer, musician, ever. I first saw them in 1987, and just recently saw them at the Exit 111. Love them and can’t wait to see them again, hopefully soon. Axl looks amazing and so does the rest of the band. They totally made Exit 111.
    GNR ROCKS!!!
