New Version of Van Halen’s “Runnin’ With the Devil” Surfaces Online!

A previously unheard version of Van Halen’s classic hit“Runnin’ With the Devil,” featuring a different vocal performance by David Lee Roth and a longer guitar solo from Eddie Van Halen, has made its way online.

This new version is from the 1977 sessions for their first album. It appears this version of the song comes from the same YouTube User (Groovefunkel) who previously leaked an unheard version of “Dance the Night Away” in 2017.

The description box of the YouTube video reads

“As a huge Van Halen fan, it gives me great pleasure to share this remix which features an alternate ‘Diamond Dave’ vocal and an extended guitar solo,” YouTuber Groovefunkel Second Helping wrote in the description, adding that the track is “made from the original 24-track session masters.”

“Runnin’ With the Devil” was the band’s second single of their self titled debut album. The album peaked at number 19 on the billboard charts and it has been certified diamond with having sold over 10 million copies.

Singer David Lee Roth hinted last year that the band was “finished” and indicated that health problems could be hampering guitarist Eddie Van Halen.

Dimaond Dave is starting a Las Vegas residency this week and will be opening for Kiss from February to October this year.  Listen to the song below!
