Richard Fortus Is “Hopeful” We’ll See New Guns N’ Roses Music This Year

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus gave an interview recently to Forbes and of course the topic of new music game up. What’s hilarious is that the person doing the interview for Forbes obviously did their homework because they asked about the boring setlist and new music. Regarding whether the band will be releasing new music anytime soon Fortus said:

“We love bringing new songs in. We always rehearse stuff up. It’s just a matter of everyone sort of feeling comfortable to integrate it into the show. I hope that we have new music out this coming year.”

Last September, Slash appeared on blowhard Eddie Trunk’s SiriusXM show”Trunk Nation” and claimed that writing new material was the “focus” for Guns N’ Roses until the new year. Slash would also go onto explain when we could hear new Guns n’ Roses music saying

 “I think at the end of the day, everybody wants to have a full album released. I don’t think that’s really changed all that much. But there’s a different way of putting stuff out initially nowadays more so than… I mean, there’s always been the single, but now you sort of look at that preliminary release a little bit differently now. All things considered, it’s like the Wild West out there; there is no formula for any of it. [Laughs] I haven’t seen any routine kind of thing that works. I mean, you can do any one of a million different things to releasing a record. But at the end of the day, I think that we will ultimately release a full album.”

Guns N’ Roses will be busy in 2020 as they will be playing their first show on January 31 as part of a headlining set at the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Miami and then heading off to South America before heading to Europe for the Spring.
