THE WHO were just breaking big into America and were going to make their first US television appearance on “The Smothers Brothers.” which was the big show back in the day. It was a show that took on the establishment so it seemed like a perfect fit for the group. Now, THE WHO wanted to make a huge impact and that they did. At this point in the band’s career drummer KEITH MOON had a habit of setting off explosives in his bass drum following the end of each of THE WHO’s performance. This time around they wanted to up the ante with more explosives and the results were….well scary. Check it out below! Whatever Happened to the Former Metallica Bassist?
I was always love doing these “Whatever happened to…” episodes. Today we take a look at whatever happened to the former METALLICA bassist JASON NEWSTED who played with the band from 1986 to 2001, replacing bassist CLIFF BURTON who was tragically killed in a bus accident in 1986 while on tour. I always loved his stage presence, playing style and background vocals, more so than current METALLICA bassist ROB TRUJILLO.

JAMES HETFIELD Looks Healthy As He Shows Up To Cars Show
METALLICA frontman JAMES HETFIELD made his first public appearance since going to rehab late last year. The frontman appeared to look healthy and happy as he discussed cars at a special event in Los Angeles called PETERSON AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM last night.

The most notable nothing about the appearance is that JAMES HETFIELD has cut his hair, but his iconic mustache is still there.

In addition to chatting about his cars, JAMES HETFIELD also auctioned off two of his ESP guitars for the event. The exhibit will be open to the public starting tomorrow (February 1) and will also have his guitars and METALLICA memorabilia on display in addition to his cars. The exhibit will be open into October of this year.
The cars that are on display at the “Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection” include the frontman’s Voodoo Priest, based on a ’37 Lincoln Zephyr, a ’36 Auburn roadster named Slow Burn, a Delahaye inspired ’34 Packard, a ’36 Ford in bare metal called Iron Fist, a purple ’56 Ford F-100 pickup truck and Skyscraper, JAMES HETFIELD’s 1953 Buick Skylark.
A book is also coming out on May 5th throught Inside Editions about HETFIELD’s cars, titled “Reclaimed Rust: The Four-Wheeled Creations Of James Hetfield”, The book see’s JAMES HETFIELD grant access to his garage for an exclusive tour of his car collection.
