DUFF MCKAGAN Pens Open Letter to Politicians in Seattle
DUFF MCKAGAN has been getting quite political lately in his hometown of Seattle. He has been worried about the state of downtown Seattle for quite sometime.

According to a story published on Q13Fox
the husband and father of two faces a difficult reality – he feels less safe here than anywhere else.
Following a deadly shooting on Third Avenue and Pine Street in January, McKagan wrote a letter to Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, begging her to take action. He copied the Seattle Times editorial board on the letter, which the newspaper published.
“Seattle is my city, and it’s gotten way past the point of being scary,” he wrote.

I'd appreciate anyone reposting this to stay on point: This is and was not an anti-Mayor piece whatsoever. I'm agnostic to tribalism and non-solutionist finger pointing. https://t.co/KCBGcwmQxD

PANTERA Bassist REX BROWN Shows Support for Tribute Tour
Former PANTERA bassist REX BROWN took to Twitter to voice his support for a tribute tour to his former metal band. The tribute tour would involve former frontman PHIL ANSELMO and guitarist ZAKK WYLDE. REX BROWN posted a tweet responding to Loudwire’s Twitter Post that discussed the matter. Last week, RITA HANEY, the girlfriend of guitarist DIMEBAG DARRELL voiced her support for a tribute tour.
BROWN would write on Twitter
“I wanna make sure that [people] understand what I’m about to tweet,It’s not up to Rita to say what will happen, only what Philip [and] I say … I’m in!! Dig?!?!?”
In her interview last month HANEY said she
“definitely would [be okay with a tour]. I’d wanna be at every show.” She did however say she wouldn’t support a full blown attempt at reuniting the band adding
“But as far as trying to put Pantera back together? No, that’s distasteful without those other guys. But I think as a tribute, it would be a really great thing because I know, from a fan’s point, if I hadn’t been able to see them play or hear those songs – I can imagine other people as well, I think it’s great that they could at least see it performed, and by people that truly love ’em. So, yeah, I think it would be a really cool thing.”
For their parts PHIL ANSELMO and ZAKK WYLDE have been in favor of the idea of a PANTERA Tribute. most recently ANSELMO has been performing PANTERA songs while on tour with his band PHILIP H. ANSELMO and the ILLEGALS.

JOEY BELLADONNA will be joined by keyboardist Doug Carter, bassist Paul Arntz, guitarist Matt Basford and drummer Justin Ward.
During a 2005 interview with MusicDish, JOEY BELLADONNAwas asked about a rumor that he came to his audition with ANTHRAX with a JOURNEY song revealing
“Actually, what happened was I went into the room and they said, ‘Just go on in,’ and they hadn’t heard me sing. They’d heard of me and they asked me to come in, but we were going in to start tracking and stuff, to get the mic set up and all that and they said, ‘Let’s get you in there and get you warmed up.’ I hit the mic and belted out some JOURNEY… I think it was [the song] ‘Lights’. I didn’t know what the hell I was getting into in the first place. I just wanted to lay some vocals or something. Just to kinda give an idea and that’s what happened. It wasn’t really anything more than that. I just kinda belched it out. I think I did ‘Oh Sherrie’ [written by JOURNEY singer Steve Perry], too, or something. I dunno why, but I just did. It was something off the top of my head I could do a cappella and it was kinda challenging. I thought maybe in range or something that would be kind of intriguing. It was definitely one they weren’t expecting.”
ANTHRAX would cover the JOURNEY song “Anthems” on their 2013 EP “Anthems”
