Matt Sorum’s New Book Delayed Due to Coronavirus
Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum revealed that his upcoming autobiography “Double Talkin’ Jive: True Rock ‘N’ Roll Stories From The Drummer Of Guns N’ Roses, The Cult, And Velvet Revolver”, which was previously set to come out in April, was then delayed to July has now been delayed once again to this fall. Guns N’ Roses have also rescheduled their 2020 tour dates recently as well.
Matt Sorum appeared on the April 13th episode of We Are Hear‘s “In A Lonely Place With Matt Pinfield”. Matt Sorum discussed the process of writing his book saying
“I’ve also edited it for about three years. It was supposed to drop, actually, last week, April 7th, and I was gonna fly to New York and do the Seth Meyers show [‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’] and be the guest drummer. They’ve got all these guest drummers. I’ve done it before — Chad Smith‘s done it, all the drummers, Josh Freese, all those guys get up and we play with the band. So I was supposed to go to New York. I was gonna be in New York this week promoting my book, and I was gonna do a whole book tour. And we were just, like, ‘Well, that’s not gonna happen.’ So we pushed the book back, and it’s looking like late summer or early fall.”
Matt Sorum, replaced Steven Adler in 1990 in GUNS N’ ROSES, recorded the highly successful albums “Use Your Illusion I” and “Use Your Illusion II” (both 1991) and “The Spaghetti Incident” (1993).

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich was recently involved in a Twitter Chat with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and revealed when we could see a new Metallica album. Well it looks like we may not have to wait that long with Ulrich saying:
story continued below..
“The people that make the software and all the stuff that we use to record are sitting right now trying to figure out how Lars and James and Kirk and Rob can make a Metallica record from four different locations in four different states. That’s obviously something that we’re very excited about,”
When Ulrich was pressed for more details about a Metallica quarantine record he stopped short of confirming it is in the works but said
“A lot of that will do with how long the stay at home orders are in place and a lot of that will have to do with if there’s a second wave of the virus. Who knows what our world will look like six months from now? But obviously, the one thing you can depend on from creative people, for better or worse, is that they can’t sit still for very long and I can tell you that one these weekly Metallica Zoom sessions we are talking about how we can just be a band again.”
“I can tell you that all four of us are really excited about what that could look like. Will there be a Metallica quarantine record? I can’t tell you because I can’t tell you how long the quarantine will last, but if you and I and the rest of the world are still sitting here six months or a year from now, I can say there’s a very good chance.”
