Joan Jett Doesn’t Feel Comfortable With Touring Stadiums This Year

Joan Jett, who was supposed to play stadiums with Motley Crue, Poison and Def Leppard this summer told Sirius XM recently that she doesn’t feel comfortable doing the tour this summer.

Recently, Motley Crue announced that two of their upcoming dates had been postponed. The tour was set to start in June in Jacksonville, Florida. Jett would tell the interviewer

“I’m not saying it’s an easy decision. I know people are struggling all over the country with what to do and how to do it. Of course, I wanna play. As soon as we can do it, let’s figure out a way to do it. I’ve heard there’s some ideas with drive-ins, like a drive-in movie, where you can still see live music and you’re in your car. That’s a step, and that’s a step I’d enjoy taking. But it’s still not people together. And that’s gonna take a while.”

Matt Sorum Reveals His Favourite Axl Rose Performance

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum revealed his favourite Axl Rose performance during his time in the band. He would reveal during an appearance on The 500 With Josh Adam Meyers

“Probably one of my greatest experiences was The Freddie Mercury Tribute, which was done at Wembley Stadium [in London, UK, on April 20, 1992], and we were invited to open the show.

“It was us and Metallica, and then Queen came out; you can watch it on YouTube, it’s probably one of the most incredible shows. I mean, backstage was David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Robert Plant, Elton [John]…

“Elton and Axl [Rose] did ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ You’ve gotta watch it; they just crushed.

“I’ve gotta say, that night was just… I remember meeting Elizabeth Taylor – it’s in my book. I drank with Liza Minnelli and George Michael. [Laughs]

“Just, one of those nights that you just will never, ever be able to… It was sort of like being in a dream world. Walking out, going, ‘Wow!’ Wembley Stadium – sold out.

“When I look back at – especially Guns N’ Roses, it’s just sort of a surreal feeling. It’s almost like watching a movie, somebody else’s movie, and you’re in it. It’s just so weird.”

Sorum is out currently promoting his upcoming biography ‘Double Talkin’ Jive’ which is due out this summer. It has been postponed several times due to everything going on with the covid pandemic.

Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins & Anderson Cooper Once Feuded

It may seem like a strange feud, but it did in fact happen. Hack CNN host Anderson Cooper exchanged a war of words with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan back in 2014. It was really a ridiculous feud when you think of it. Cooper started the feud by poking fun at Corgan for appearing on the front cover of a local Chicago animal magazine with Corgan firing back. Check out the whole history of the feud below

Guns N’ Roses Cancel Summer Touring Plans

To know one’s surprise Guns N’ Roses will not be touring Europe this summer. The band made the announcement today on social media, but didn’t outright scrap all the shows. Instead, they maybe rescheduled at some point in time. Check out the announcement below!

GN’R Fam: Sadly the upcoming European tour will not be happening. Things are changing daily and we want to keep our fans, crew members and band safe. We are working hard with our promoters, venues and cities/countries on next steps and will make further announcements as soon as we can.

Thank you for your patience. We will get through this together and look forward to seeing you all very soon …

The tour was scheduled to start on May 20 in Lisbon, Portugal, with dates planned to run through June 27 in Dublin, Ireland. The band was planning on touring stadiums across North America this summer with the Smashing Pumpkins opening several shows. The band’s south american shows were already pushed from March and April to this fall. My guess is that those shows will be canned. You can see the band’s current scheduled tour dates here.
