I feel like nowadays i see so many kids wearing band shirts and chances are a lot of them don’t really know who or what they’re really wearing. Even if you go on ebay or grailed there’s tons of vintage band shirts you can buy, but it would be one rock shirt that made history selling for a whopping $10,000.00. That’s what were going to explore in today’s video. In 1979 Led Zeppelin would play two shows at Knebworth House in England. Rather than handing out backstage passes to a few lucky fans, the band’s crew gave out a t-shirt that served the same purpose. The shop who printed the original would sell the shirt to a man named Kyle Ermatinger for $123.00 Ermatinger bought the shirt on behalf of the store he owned called Stormcrow Vintage,. Upon purchasing the shirt Ermatinger would learn that the shirt he had in his possession was supposedly the rarest Led Zeppelin shirt in existence. Ermatinger would list the shirt on ebay selling it for a whopping $10,000.00 in 2011 recalling “My jaw hit the floor. Given this shirt may be one of the only ones in existence, the price tag is completely justifiable. It’s a rock relic, beyond rare.” A

dmittedly, I still frequently pinch myself. The buyer would be a person who lived in australia and chose to remain anonymous. The only other thing known about the buyer is that they bought another Led Zeppelin shirt off the auction site the same week. Ermatinger would admit that he initially thought he paid too much money for the shirt adding At the time, I thought I may have overpaid, until I got back home, looked it up online and noticed it was ranked as the rarest Led Zeppelin T-shirt The shirt would become the most expensive t-shirts sold on ebay in the auction site’s history with James Applegath of the website Defunkd saying “Other T-shirts have been priced higher on eBay, but never sold,” We’ve documented eBay’s highest-selling T-shirts on our blog for years and nothing has come close. People are shocked at the value of some vintage t-shirts, but these items have become as collectible as baseball cards and comics.”” One of the commenters on blabbermouth was quoted as writing “I’ve got a cigarette butt Jimmy Page tossed off stage in 1974. It’s been framed in a glass case, and has a DNA tested certificate of authenticity. Let the bidding begin
